Audience research

Before we made any final decisions on our ideas, we asked some people some questions and wrote down that they said. we used these results to make some graphs which are below. The point of this is to see what our audience would what to see in our music video. The questions included things like: genre, conventions and would this appeal to you. Here are the graphs with our findings:

From this characteristic chart, we found that a link between visuals and lyrics was most important for our audience. Therefore we will make sure that we put emphasis on the cool kids and the meaning around them. Furthermore we found that editing to the beat was second favourite so we will also make this a priority. If you add up link between visuals and editing then this makes up 50% of people answers making them the most important.

From this chart, we can see that the most popular genre of music in our audience is pop meaning that they are more likely to like our song choice and the music video. This also means that our song choice is very good as we have picked a song in the favourite genre.

From this chart, we can see that parody is the most popular with narrative second. Our original idea was to do a narrative music video so due to these result, we feel like sticking with narrative will be a good idea but put a comedy spin on the story so its funny like a parody. The reason we won't do a parody is because they are difficult to make and some people may not get the references and jokes.
